For individuals and businesses, cybersecurity has never been more important than it is in today’s technology-driven world. The rise of the remote workforce, brought with it a unique set of cyber-security challenges. Here are some of 2022 Cybersecurity predictions :
The cybersecurity talent shortage
As cyberattacks grow more complex and frequent, lack of qualified professionals is only going to get worse. Companies will increasingly be faced with the challenge of safeguarding their networks and data. Fortunately, AI has the ability to spot anomalies and presence of malwares quicker than humans. AI is more likely to be the best alternative to this shortage.
Supply Chain Cyber Attacks
Supply-chain attacks can effectively disable an entire organization’s software supply chain, creating massive business disruptions. Unfortunately, these attacks will become more common in 2022 because of their dangerousness, leading cybercriminals to commoditize them, which will encourage lesser-skilled attackers to conduct software supply chain attacks.
More smart devices, more risk
It’s inevitable, your home, car, phone will be Internet-connected within the next five years. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a continually growing trend that will bring more cyber threats. Hackers will attack through many vulnerable devices such as security cameras, smart TVs in homes or workplaces.
Changing the Game for Cybersecurity
Machine Learning and AI have already started to revolutionize cybersecurity and their impact is only going to grow in the next decade. Quantum computing is also debuting in the cybersecurity world and would take cryptography to the next level within a few years.
Companies should put a lot more emphasis on cybersecurity because reputation damage of a cyber incident is incredibly hard to recover from. The best approach to prevent cybercrime is to understand what the potential risks are, and that starts with educating your employees. By training them to avoid becoming victims themselves, you’re teaching them what brings on data breaches.
Here at MI we strive to keep ourselves ahead in the competition in all challenges and cybersecurity is one the top of the list. We’re consistently working on improving our services’ security and preventing it from any cyber incident.
