How many times have you been told don’t text and drive? Don’t drive distracted? I’m sure too many too count. Most people would think this is just common sense, but apparently not. In a bid to keep drivers safe and not distracted Tesla has agreed to make changes to its Passenger Play feature that allowed games to be played on its touchscreen while the car was in motion. Which in my opinion, is an excellent idea and really the best way to keep people safe.
How many times have you been prompted by your device to enter “Passenger Mode” to use a particular app or service because it was connected to your car and your car was in motion, for example? How many times have you clicked “Passenger Mode” while you’ve actually been the driver. I’d be willing to wager that more people than are willing to admit fall into this category.
I would always recommend and suggest that people interact with their devices while stationary before leaving their destination or from a safe stopping place to ensure the safety of, not only themselves, but the other drivers as well.
